Campus and School Safety Training Institute (CASSTI) is committed to providing safe spaces for learning and training—including against infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly spread when someone infected with COVID-19 coughs or sneezes. Although the virus cannot enter the body through the skin, the respiratory droplets carrying the virus can get into your airways or mucous membranes of your eyes, nose, or mouth to infect you. The virus can also be spread if you touch a surface contaminated with virus and then touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

To this end, CASSTI has entered into an agreement with Swiss Pharma SA to clean and disinfect all CASSTI training facilities and ensure the safety of trainees and trainers from undue exposure to the virus. Using a broad spectrum disinfected  tested and approved by the South African Bureau of Standards, the facilities can be used safely by cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and objects at least daily or between use by different students and facilitators.
